Membership Instructions

The following is a step-by-step process for becoming a member. You may become a member at any time, but the new season begins each August and point accumulation for that season runs August through state finals in May/June.

New Members: Go to the NHSRA membership portal website and sign up as a new member. As you fill out your information it will generate the national membership application, a member/minor release form and insurance verification.

Current Members: Log into your existing account at the NHSRA membership portal website and update your information. Please remember to update your biography as well!

  • If you forgot your User ID, contact Elena Jobe and she can look it up for you.

  • If you forgot your password, please use the reset password feature. Elena cannot see your password and you will have to reset it.

Dues: You will pay for both your National membership and Missouri membership on the National site ($195 HS or $150 Jr. High, this is for both State and National dues).

Members transferring from another state: If needed, the system should generate a transfer request. You do not need to do anything with it. The Nationals office will be notified and will start the process of having the appropriate State’s National Directors sign off on the transfer request. Call Elena Jobe if in doubt and she will follow up with NHSRA.

Forms: The national site will generate forms that must be printed and signed. Print out the forms so you can have notarized, etc. Additionally, you will have state forms that must be printed and signed. Forms must be signed by both parents, unless one parent has sole custody, deceased parent, etc. as it states below the signature area of this form. Because some forms need to be notarized, please plan/allow time to get this done and upload in order to be a member!

In summary, you will need to complete the following forms and required documents:

Once you have completed ALL national (2) and state (3) forms (signed/notarized for applicable forms), you must log back into the national website and upload all forms and documents! Please keep your printed forms for your records. You do not need to upload the insurance document (for your records only).

Dues & Sponsorship Fees: High school members must pay $400 ($200 due at the first fall rodeo & $200 due at the first spring rodeo) and Jr. High pays $200 ($100 due at the first fall rodeo & $100 due at the first spring rodeo) for Association/Sponsorship fees. These fees are in addition to their membership dues paid online when they sign up and are dedicated 100% to year end awards. If you do get sponsors, have the checks made out to MHSR and I will gladly send them a receipt for their taxes. We are a non-profit organization so whatever amount they sponsor for is tax deductible. Each member is also required to participate in the annual fundraising to be eligible to compete in MHSR State Finals.

If members do get sponsors, ask them to make checks to MHSR and the Association will send them a receipt for tax purposes. MHSR is a non-profit organization; therefore sponsorships are tax deductible.

Non-Members: Students may compete at any one rodeo weekend as a non-member. You must call in to enter the rodeo (the Monday prior to the rodeo weekend). You will be required to pay fees and are eligible for payouts, but will not accumulate any points until you are a full member. In order to compete as a non-member, you are required to sign the NHSRA Member Release Form. Please note the Release requires notarization before you can compete. While the MHSR Secretary is a notary, it is best to come to the rodeo with the form completed and notarized, in case of an emergency/unavailability of a notary on site.
